At 10:00 Pacific on a Friday in March, 400 five-gauge stripe sweaters went live. At 10:11 the last medium was gone. We had planned for an hour. We had not planned for 9,800 people arriving in the same ninety seconds.

What went right
Early access worked. List members bought 71% of the drop in the 24 hours before the public release, and almost nobody hit the three-piece limit. Returns were under 4%, the lowest of any drop so far, which tells us the size guide is finally doing its job.
We would rather sell out to 400 people who wear it for ten years than restock for people who flip it in ten days.
What went wrong
For six minutes, the checkout queued people without telling them they were queued. Some paid twice. Every double charge was refunded by Monday, but it should not have happened. We also caught 31 orders from the same three addresses, which we cancelled and released back to the waitlist.

What changes for Drop 07
- 1A visible queue with your place in line.
- 2A ten-minute hold on your bag once you reach checkout.
- 3One per size, per style, checked by hand before shipping.
- 4A staggered release: sneakers open thirty minutes after the clothing.
The fisherman sweater will not come back in navy. It may come back in another colour, in another year, in another small run. That is the deal.
